Spring Follows Winter

A Fresh Perspective – Spring follows Winter

Joy in adversity is a powerful principle that helps us to live above the clouds.

The sun is always shining somewhere above the storm clouds of life, and if we can see it by faith we won’t cave-in to discouragement and depressed thoughts.

It is more difficult to think and speak positively during the “winters” of our lives.

Winter is merely a time when things are not going well – perhaps a financial difficulty, relationship problems, illness, or some other difficulty. No one goes through life without experiencing a winter season from time to time.

The good news is that difficult times don’t last forever when we find ourselves in the middle of a challenging season we can start hoping and expecting things to change because Spring always follows Winter.

Joyce Meyer’s book the Battlefield of the Mind is a game-changer for the mind

She shares in the Song of Solomon 2:11–12 encourages us to look for springtime during winter saying; “for behold the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.  The flowers appear on the earth once again the time for singing has come, and the voice of the turtle dove is heard in our land.

Have you ever noticed that being upset or downtrodden about problems never changes them?

A bad attitude is like a flat tire if you don’t change it you won’t go anywhere.

Being worried and upset is like sitting in a rocking chair all day and rocking back-and-forth.  It keeps you busy and eventually wears you out, but it gets you nowhere.  It is very important that we each learn how to have victory in the midst of our problems.

So in God’s word he teaches us; that we are more than conquerors in the midst of our trials and tribulations.  When I am in the midst of difficulty, I often turn to some encouragement in Romans 8: 35-39 that reminds me that no matter how difficult life is, God loves me.

We can always be assured of victory.  We may go through very difficult times,  but God is always with us, and following the principles, He has given us in His Word will bring us through to more peaceful days every time.

So my point here is whether you follow God or his word, and life is not working for you right now, give Him a chance.  Take an opportunity and just see it from a different perspective because what do you have to lose when you are feeling down.  I guarantee your life will change.

A little prayer for you:

Lord God, You have made the seasons of my life just as surely as You have made the seasons of the earth. Help me to remember that spring follows winter and that the challenges I am facing today will pass.  Thank You for Your shining light and wisdom.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.
